Bowler Spotlight — 2 national awards earned in one series

Almost every bowler strives to accomplish bowling their first perfect game, and some set their sights on their first 800 series.  Those nationally-recognized feats (usually accompanied by a commemorative ring) don’t happen often to youth bowlers, nor do they usually happen on the same day — but that’s exactly what happened a few weeks ago here on the First Coast!

We’d like to recognize Tanner Warwick for accomplishing his first 300 game and first 800 series, bowled on 9/24 at Batt Family Fun Center.  Check out our “In The Spotlight” page for an article about him — our October 2016 youth bowler in the spotlight!

Challenge Recap – Oct ’16

The second Challenge Tournament for the 2016-2017 season took place Saturday 10/22 at Nassau Bowling Center.  11 teams from 7 bowling centers competed in this Handicap tournament.  As part of a new twist to the tournament format, teams bowled two games individually and then a team “Baker” game.

Here are a few of the results (full results will be updated at a later time):

1st Place Team: Bowl America Orange Park – Travis Willard, Kyle Nelson & Dean Ganci

There will be NO Challenge Tournament during the month of November (due to the City Tournament and Thanksgiving Holiday); the next Challenge Tournament will take place at Bowl America Orange Park on December 17th.  Special thanks go out to the Youth Leaders members who help run our Challenge Tournament events!

Upcoming Events – October 2016

Youth Bowlers,

First off, we hope everyone is okay and recovering from Hurricane Matthew.

September was a great start to the bowling season, with a lot of excitement both in leagues and in tournaments.  Here’s what we have to look forward to this month (beyond your weekly bowling leagues):

Hurricane Matthew: All leagues and events cancelled 10/8

Due to Hurricane Matthew’s anticipated impact to the First Coast area, there will be no youth bowling leagues taking place this Saturday, 10/8, at any of our centers.  Additionally, the October JJBT tournament is being postponed a week — it will be 10/15 (at Beach Bowl).
Please stay safe during the storm!
