Challenge Tournament

Latest News on the Challenge Tournament:

Updated 9/1/2023: The Challenge Tournament series will not take place during the 2023-2024 bowling season for a variety of reasons.  In its place, the Youth Leaders will be running a one-day Mystery Doubles Tournament (tentatively in February 2024).

The Youth Committee plans to re-evaluate the Challenge Tournament format & financial structure, along with feedback from the youth bowling community, later this season to see if the tournament series can return for the 2024-2025 season.

About the Challenge Tournament:

The Challenge Tournament offers all youth bowlers the opportunity to represent their home center and compete as a team (3-person).  Centers pay sponsorship fees towards reserved team slots in this tournament series. Up to 4 teams for each bowling center can pre-register & enter the tournament each month (depending on team sponsorships), and the cost to enter each event is $15 per bowler ($45 per team).  All participants bowl 2 games individually PLUS 2 “Baker format” games as a team.  The team with the highest total score (with handicap) wins that month’s tournament.  The top 2 teams earn individual medals, plus additional medals are awarded based on age & gender divisions.  The 6 winning teams from each month’s tournament, plus the next 6 highest-scoring teams throughout the year, earn entry into the championship tournament held in April where they compete for the traveling trophy/plaque and SMART scholarships.  This tournament series is run by the First Coast USBC Youth Leaders (youth bowlers)!
