What’s new this year?

Welcome back bowlers (and we also welcome all new bowlers, too)!  Curious as to what’s new this season?  Here are just some of the bigger updates you’ll notice:

  • The City Tournament will be in November this year, not February.
  • The Challenge Tournament will include one game in the team / Baker format.
  • The Travel League plans to award more entries to Junior Gold Nationals, add higher-level coaching, and include match play each week.
  • More scholarships and more awards in the monthly JJBT events.
  • More recognition, including a Youth Leader of the Year, Youth Ambassador of the Year, and Player/Rookie of the Year for the JJBT.

These enhancements were made based on feedback from the bowlers and spectators… Keep sending us that feedback!

Are you inviting your friends?

Youth League bowlers –

As the school year begins, so does the Fall bowling season.  It’s a great time to invite your friends, classmates and neighbors to join a youth league!  Bowling in league tends to be more fun and comfortable when surrounded by friends.  League registration & “preview” day information is listed on the bowling center pages on this website.

Don’t forget… those who recruit new bowlers (new to USBC) earn points to determining who are the top “Youth Bowling Ambassadors” of the year!  We’re working on prize packs for the top recruiters — don’t miss out on these new awards.

Upcoming Youth Leaders Meeting – Sunday 8/7

The next Youth Leaders meeting will be held on Sunday, August 7th at Bowl America Southside, starting promptly at 1:30pm.  This is the first meeting for the new bowling season, where we will plan out the entire year’s activities (among other discussion items).

Youth bowlers ages 12 and up, from all centers, are encouraged to join Youth Leaders; we’d like to have at least 2 from each center participate going forward.  Visit the Youth Leaders page to see what being a leader in the youth bowling community is all about!
