Volunteer Opportunities

Our youth bowling programs rely on the talents and time commitments of adult volunteers. We welcome enthusiastic, positive, and dedicated individuals who want to make the First Coast USBC Youth bowling programs among the best in the nation.

Below are the current and upcoming opportunities for volunteers at the Association level… see your Center Youth Director for those at the league / center level. All volunteers must be active RVP’s to serve in any capacity, unless between the ages of 14-17. Please email fcusbcyouth@gmail.com or contact the Chairperson regarding any of the volunteer opportunities you are interested in fulfilling.

Quarterly Review: Nov 2018 – Jan 2019

From the FCUSBC Youth Committee Chairperson,

We’re in the heart of the 2018-2019 youth bowling season, and our youth bowling programs are going strong!  Here are some highlights from the past three months:

  • The Annual Youth City Championship saw a solid turnout, with overwhelmingly positive feedback received!
  • First Coast USBC bowlers were on 5 of the 25 teams at the USA Bowling Coastal South Regional Tournament. U12 teams placed 2nd and 3rd, while one U15 team won the non-championship bracket.
  • 21 teams participated in the Christmas Classic.
  • 20 more bowlers earned their entries into the National Junior Gold Championships through the Ray Potts Memorial, City Tournament, and North Florida Sport Shot Series events. 36 total entries have been awarded this season through our local events!
  • One youth bowler earned three honor scores at the City Tournament… 11 in a row, 300 game, and 800 series!
  • Our local Youth Leaders chapter is growing, both in numbers and in leadership skills!

We have a lot going on over the next three months — our Annual Youth Scholarship Tournament and Coaches Memorial… our local monthly tournaments like JJBT, NFSSS, Challenge… the Travel League wraps up their season… and the Florida Pepsi / Handicap tournaments!

Maintain focus and push toward your goals!

Ryan Waters, USBC Silver Coach and First Coast USBC Youth Committee Chair
