About the JJBT:
The Jacksonville Jr. Bowling Tour (JJBT) is a monthly scholarship tournament for youth & adult bowlers (under age 20) that have a league average of 100 or greater. The cost to enter each monthly tournament is $50, with walk-in registration taking place the day of the event (check-in is Noon to 12:45pm sharp; bowling begins by 1pm). Participants compete in one of three divisions based on their average — “Bronze” (100-159 average, handicap format), “Silver” (160-184 average, scratch format) and “Gold” (185+ average, scratch format). Once a participant moves up in divisions during the season they cannot go back down, even if their average drops.
During the qualifying round, each participant bowls five games across five pairs of lanes. High Game and 1st place awards are given out for performance in the Qualifying round. Based on the number of entrants, at least 6 entrants in each division will advance to the Brackets round. The Brackets round consists of up to 3 single-elimination, head-to-head matchups. Scholarships are awarded to 1st through 4th place in each division, along with high game award medals. All participants earn tournament points based on their performance each month, which determines their eligibility to the season-ending Tournament of Champions event (where additional scholarships are awarded out). The top 12 in each division, based on TOC points earned in at least 2 JJBT events attended, are eligible to compete in the Tournament of Champions.
